On June 26th, 2024, California lawmakers and Governor Gavin Newsom passed and signed the state’s 2024-2025 budget for $297.9 billion. In that budget, approximately $130.3 million has been allocated for mandated cost funding for all county and local public agencies including $58.8 million for RIPA.
In addition, some of you should be seeing RIPA reimbursement checks (for all timely claims that have been submitted during FY 2022 - 2023) in the coming weeks. State records show California state and local law enforcement agencies submitted 331 claims worth about $22.2 million which means there still over $35 million left in the RIPA state mandated claims budget.
