In this paper, we describe the merits of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict, model, simulate, optimize and autonomously control microgrids.

Not only must sophisticated microgrids provide reliable power,
optimize load and capture market opportunities, but they also
now need to balance the variability of renewables.
